Kathy has been a consummate entrepreneur most of her life. With a degree in Biology from Florida Atlantic University and a Master’s in Forestry from the University of Oregon, she has developed successful businesses that all 4 of her children have participated in. It began over 30 years ago in Georgia when she opened a plant nursery growing annuals and perennials for local business parks. She sold the business when her family moved to Oregon, her husband’s home state.
Once settled, Kathy purchased and relocated a failing commercial bean sprout operation, expanding it to produce 1,000 pounds per week, entirely family-run. As the children grew older, she sold Sprout City and they moved into town. Next, she purchased a laser engraver and created Pacific Engraving and The Artful Stencil. The business serves local electric companies by providing custom panel-labels, and has expanded to 4 online stores for Mylar stencil sales. The business is now 14 years old and is operated by one of her sons.
With children in college, Kathy became a Certified Franchise Broker in 2009 and committed to tripling her income. A history of business ownership had given her a deep desire to help fellow entrepreneurs gain more control over their futures through franchise ownership. Kathy takes the time to carefully evaluate a client’s history, dreams, and capability to make suggestions that support their goals. One key to everyone’s success in this process is outstanding affiliation... her desire to join the FCC comes from 10 years of franchise consultation, and the knowledge that it was time to join the best organization in the world to better serve her clients.
“The Franchise Consulting Company is simply the best and most efficient way for me to provide my clients the highest quality recommendations possible.”
Kathy has traveled extensively visiting a variety of franchise headquarters throughout the country. She continues to study and train in best-practices, and has developed relationships with funding providers and legal advisors. She also has an extensive history working with franchise resales for clients that want to step into an existing business.
Kathy is a 20-year resident of Oregon with her entire family close by. She’s still heavily involved in business, but spends her free time ballroom dancing and being out-of-doors.
